Academics
AXIOM Learning Centre in Erasmuskloof, Pretoria East is a private tutor centre offering excellent education to learners from Grade 1-12 that combines academics and cultural activities. Teaching takes place in English and we form part of Optimi-Impaq Education. In addition we are a CAPS tutor centre and assist part time home school learners and IEB learners with remedial classes. We are committed to providing learners with an excellent education . Our approach to interacting with each learner is based on face to face question and answer sessions, project based learning, mind mapping, creative summary and self-discovery.
Foundation Phase - Grade 1-3
Our Foundation Phase has been designed to help Grade 1-3 adapt to more formal learning. Learners learn the basic foundations on which all further learning is based and structured:
- Language (read, spell, understand, speak, listen)
- Mathematics (count, understand numbers, addition, subtraction and basic multiplication)
- Life skills (physical education, real-life experiences, problem-solving, creativity)
- Robotics (basic introduction to technology)
Tutoring takes place in English and learners can choose Afrikaans as the additional language option. Learners have ROBOTICS if following IMPAQ OPTIMI.

Intermediate Phase - Grade 4-6
Our Intermediate Phase has been structured to help Grade 4-6 adapt to the Senior Level Phase from Grade 7-9. In this phase learners apply the knowledge of foundation Phase and are introduced to more subjects preparing them to progress to Grade 7-9. These include:
- First Language HL English
- Second Language EAT Afrikaans
- Mathematics
- Life Skills
- Natural Science & Technology
- Social Science – Geography
- Social Science – History
- Robotics (optional)
- Creative Arts
Tutoring takes place in English and learners can choose Afrikaans as the additional language option. Learners can also choose ROBOTICS as an
additional subject

Senior Phase - Grade 7-9
Our Senior Phase has been structured to help Grade 7-9 adapt to the Senior FET Phase from Grade 10-12. In this phase learners apply the knowledge of the Foundation Phase, Intermediate Phase and are introduced to more subjects preparing them to progress to Grade 10-12 where they will choose their preferred additional subjects that will be part of the NSC Final matric certificate. As from 2024/5 there will be a Senior Certificate at the end of Grade 9 and for learners who do not continue to FET Phase. This certificate will be valid and accepted at Technical Institution to further with N1-N4 SAQA Diplomas. The Senior Level Phase subjects include:

- Natural Science & Technology

Senior FET Phase - Grade 10-12
Our Senior FET Phase has been structured to help Grade 10-12 Complete the NSC Certificate or further with N1-N4 SAQA Diplomas. The FET Phase Level subjects, as the listed below, learners may choose 3 -4 additional subjects and add them to the required and compulsory subjects (2 Languages, Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy and Life orientation).
